Family history books either begin with a contemporary person and trace backward through his ancestors or begin with the ancestor of a person and list his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and on down to the present.

Usually included in family history books is information from wills, deeds, probate records, court records, birth, death and marriage records. Family stories and pictures are often included, also.
